I'm not a professional in this but my workaround when I had this problem was replacing forge gradle with anatawa12's fork. I think what happened was some urls changed in one of the forge updates and forge 1.7.10 wasn't considered in the change.

So I just got Minecraft back after reinstalling windows to my laptop. I am trying to get it set back up to where I had it and I installed Forge 1.7.10 because I have a lot of mods that require that version. I ran vanilla minecraft just to see if it worked and then I closed it and tried to run Minecraft with Forege 1.7.10 but it keeps getting stuck on 13 or 14 Mb to download and then it says "Failed to download file. 1.7.10.jar" and has the error message
Name: 1.7.10.jarURL: Error details: Request error -101: ERR_CONNECTION_RESETFilename on disk: 0fd2-05c7-7eb8-c6bePath: C:\Users\ethan\AppData\Local\Temp\0fd2-05c7-7eb8-c6beExists: file

But what are Sildur's shaders? Sildur's Shaders is an extension of the GLSL shader mod for Minecraft, now part of Optifine. Vibrant shaders completly revamps the lighting system of minecraft and adds advanced effects like volumetric lighting, bloom, ambient occlusion and reflections. While still maintaining high performance. Enhanced default does what the name indicates, instead of completly revamping the style of the game it maintains the vanilla look and adds shadows, reflections and even godrays. It's very lightweight and highly customizable, so even the worst potato is able to run it. Fabulous shaders is a shaderpack/resourcepack that uses mojangs inbuild shaders function and require the fabulous setting from 1.16+ to work. My shaderpacks are designed to work on all graphics cards and computers, including Macs, while still delivering a great graphical experience.
The 1.7.10 Pack brings what others failed to bring; what you've always wanted - and with the best collection of mods. The world is yours, and you can do whatever you want with it. If you want to explore the dimensions, building massive tech multi-blocks, or even performing magic: you can! And all that with optional quests that bring you even more goals. Playing with friends, or alone, it never gets boring.
The 1.7.10-1.0 version of Chocolate Quest has a known problem that causes crashes when you try to enter an End Portal and maybe at some other times as well. To fix it, open the .minecraft\config\Chocolate\DungeonConfig\caveTest.prop file and change it to say "chance = 0" save and close the file.
The 1.7.2 version is somewhat incomplete but still fun to play. 1.7.2 is not going to be updated and there is limited support. To fix a plains crashing bug with this version open your .minecraft/config/DungeonConfig/test.prop file and change it to say "chance = 0" Save and close the file.
Don?t you hate how long it takes to gather wood? With an axe and a will you can change all of that torture once you download this mod. Tree Capitator Mod adds one simple element to the game: axes cut down all wood touching the wood block you cut down. So, the next time you see one of those twenty block high monstrosities, you won?t think of how much work it?ll be, you?ll think of how much wood you?ll get. You can also mess around with the config file to change things like what?s considered a tree, how many leaves the trees need to be considered a tree, what an ax is, and whether or not you need an ax. So, with mods that add axes into minecraft like IndustrialCraft2, or mods that add in trees like Forestry, you can make sure that you?ll be able to use all of your ax items, and cut down all of your trees.

In the window that opens, scroll down to 1.7.10 and enter a name at the top, then press OK. Then select the new instance and click 'Launch'. MultiMC will then download the vanilla files and load the game. Once it has done this, close the game and return to the launcher. Click 'Edit Instance' and then in the new window click the 'Install Forge' button on the right-hand side. Select the recommended version in the window and click OK. Then click the 'Loader Mods' tab on the left of the instance window and then 'Add' in the top right. You can then navigate to the LotR mod .jar you downloaded and add it.

Now go to Finder. Go up to your toolbar at the top of your screen, and select "Go." The dropdown should contain a "Go To Folder" button. Click this. On your Finder window, a box will be at the top. Type in the box "/Library". Then find the folder "Application Support". Open that, and find "minecraft". Click on this folder. In this folder, there may or may not be a "mods" folder.
