Either it's been deliberately patched to be harder, or it could be dependant on how high your combo is, you know once you get to a 20x focus combo batman moves almost twice as fast, I always go for focus combos rather than discharge the bonus takedown move and reset the combo focus, if you do a triangle+circle takedown after an 8 hit combo, the bonus resets, if you let it go until the combo is highlighted red, batman moves way faster across the screen, maybe it's that?
